Baitul Mukarram

This mosque is the national mosque of Bangladesh located at the heart of Dhaka city . It was established in the year 1960. The main prayer hall has an area of  26,517 square feet with an additional mezzanine floor on the eastern side which measure 1840 square feet. The prayer hall has verandas on three of its sides. the mihrab is rectangular instead of the traditional semi-circular. The architectural design of the mosque is similar to famous ka'abah in Mecca. This mosque is also an important part of Dhaka city.
